A new book coming in September 2025!

This dazzling, genre-defying collection from Jonathan Lethem features seven major stories published since his last collection, along with his best work spanning more than three decades. A major new story, “The Red Sun School of Thoughts,” never published before, follows a teenage boy coming to terms with figures of authority and power—those in both his biological family and in the family he creates for himself.

Jonathan Lethem is an essayist and the author of thirteen novels, including Motherless Brooklyn, The Fortress of Solitude, and Brooklyn Crime Novel. His stories and essays have been published in The New Yorker, Harper’s, Rolling Stone, and many other magazines and anthologies, and his writings have gained him a National Book Critic’s Circle Award, a Guggenheim Fellowship, a World Fantasy Award, and a 2005 MacArthur “Genius” Fellowship. His forthcoming book, out this September, is A Different Kind of Tension: New and Selected Stories.

Greg Wands is the internationally bestselling co-author, along with Elizabeth Keenan, of three thriller novels under the pen name E.G. Scott, the first of which (The Woman Inside) was optioned for television. Their books have been translated into a dozen languages and their latest title, Trust Issues, is now available in the East Blue Hill Library. He is currently at work on a solo novel.
